The Chief Solicitor reminded the Committee that, following consultation with local residents and businesses regarding the regulation of sexual entertainment venues, the Council had adopted the sexual entertainment licensing provisions contained in Schedule 3 to the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 with effect from 1 July 2012. The report outlined action taken in co-operation with the other local authorities in Kent, through the Kent and Medway Regulatory Licensing Steering Group, to develop a Statement of Licensing Policy. The report set out details of the responses received to the consultation on the proposed Sexual Entertainment Venues Policy.
