DECISIONS TAKEN UNDER DELEGATED POWERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH PARAGRAPH 3 (OR 2), PART 3 OF THE CONSTITUTION
LA 08/023 Flexible Warranting for Health and Safety Enforcement
 The report of the Director of Health and Housing outlined details of a proposal to provide flexible warranting arrangements with the Health and Safety Executive and other local authorities within Kent in respect of health and safety enforcement. Details of a proposed Memorandum of Understanding regarding the operation of the scheme were set out in the annex to the report.

RESOLVED: That

(1) the principle of entering into a flexible warranting arrangement with the Health and Safety Executive and other Kent local authorities be endorsed;

(2) the Memorandum of Understanding relating to the flexible warrant scheme be adopted;

(3) the Director of Health and Housing be authorised to enter into the Memorandum of Understanding on behalf of the Council; and

(4) delegated authority be granted to the Director of Health and Housing to authorise relevant officers for the purposes of implementing the scheme.

 The report of the Director of Health and Housing set out details of the 2007/08 performance of the Council in respect of the health and safety function.
