Application for Exemption from Hackney Carriage Condition: Plate No 53 (Reason: LGA 1972 Sch 12A Para 1 - Information relating to an individual) |
The Chief Solicitor's report set out details of an application received from the driver of Hackney Carriage Plate No 53 for an exemption from Hackney Carriage conditions 2 and 3 to allow the use of magnetic door insignia. The driver explained to the Committee that the tenancy agreement on the estate where he lived prevented commercial vehicles being parked there and that he was unable to comply with this requirement if the door insignia was permanently affixed to his vehicle. RESOLVED: That the application be granted subject to (1) the consent be personal to the applicant; (2) the consent apply only so long as the applicant resides at the address identified in the report; and (3) the door insignia and the licence plates be in place at all times when the vehicle is being used for work. |
