 RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the meeting of the Licensing and Appeals Committee held on 10 November 2008 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

 RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the meeting of the Licensing and Appeals Committee, sitting as a Panel, held on 10 November 2008 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.
LA 09/004 Minutes
 The Chief Solicitor updated the Committee on the outcome of the hearing at the Magistrates' Court into the Appeal by Hop Farm Trading Limited in respect of the refusal of the application for a five day Premises Licence for 2 to 6 July 2009.

RESOLVED: That the Minutes of the meeting of the Licensing and Appeals Committee, sitting as a Panel, held on 11 November 2008 be approved as a correct record and signed by the Chairman.

MATTERS FOR RECOMMENDATION TO THE COUNCIL
LA 09/006 Annual Review of Licence and Registration Fees
 The report of the Chief Solicitor set out details of the proposed fees to be charged for licences and registrations for 2009/10. Members were advised of the provisions of Section 70 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 which required publication of the proposed fees relating to the hackney carriage and private hire licensing function and gave at least 28 days from publication for the submission of objections. The Committee noted that any objections received would be submitted to the meeting of the committee scheduled to be held on 23 March 2009.

RECOMMENDED: That

(1) the proposed scales of fees relating to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire licensing function, as set out in the Table annexed to these Minutes, be adopted with effect from the expiration of the notice published (5 March 2009) or from 23 March 2009 if objections are received;

(2) the proposed scales of fees not relating to the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire licensing function and as set out in the Table annexed to these Minutes, be adopted with effect from 1 April 2009; and

(3) the Chief Solicitor be authorised to advertise in accordance with the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 the fees for operators' licences and for hackney carriage and private hire vehicle licences.
