RESOLVED: That AN OBJECTION BE RAISED on the following grounds: - (1) The proposed replacement cables should be laid underground in order to reduce the harm of overhead electricity cables and their associated support structures on the landscape quality of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and on the character and appearance of various Conservation Areas. The proposal is therefore contrary to PPS7 (Sustainable Development in Rural Areas), PPG15 (Planning and the Historic Environment) and Policies EN4 and QL6 of the Kent and Medway Structure Plan 2006. If the Secretary of State is minded to approve the proposal, then any replacement poles should be of the same materials, size, form and design as those they replace. |
