Youth Service Review/Holiday Activity Programmes for Young People

The report gave an update on the County Council's review of its Youth Service following the strong representations made by the Borough Council. Proposed changes/improvements to the Borough Council's Holiday Activity Programme for young people were also brought forward.
Following consideration by the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board, the Cabinet Member for Leisure, Youth and Arts resolved that:
1) a detailed audit of existing youth provision in the Borough be undertaken in liaison with the County Council to help inform future discussions in the future delivery of Youth Services within Tonbridge and Malling;
2) a review of the Summer Playscheme be undertaken to consider the potential of a full day service being provided in the future; and
3) the proposed dates and venues for the 2012 Summer Playscheme as outlined in the report be approved.
Reasons: As set out in the report submitted to the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board of 12 December 2011.
