Tonbridge Casual Moorings

The report reviewed the provision of casual moorings managed by the Borough Council on the River Medway in Tonbridge and proposed an alteration to the current charging regime and management arrangements.

Following consideration by the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board, the Cabinet Member for Leisure, Youth and Arts resolved that:
1) the proposed fees for casual moorings in Tonbridge in 2012/13, as set out at Annex 2 to the report, be approved and implemented;
2) new policies regarding the introduction of a maximum stay of one week and no return within 30 days be introduced;
3) liaison continue with the Environment Agency regarding the future management of the moorings; and
4) the existing enforcement procedures be reviewed/enhanced in liaison with the Chief Solicitor.

Reasons: As set out in the report submitted to the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board of 28 February 2012.
