Mayor's Announcements. |
The Mayor announced that he had appointed the Reverend Matthew Buchan as his Chaplain and the Civic Service would be held at Leybourne Parish Church on Sunday 17 July. The Mayor indicated that his nominated charities were Leybourne Grange Riding School for the Disabled and Platform 51 (formerly YWCA). He gave notice of some forthcoming events including the Freedom March on 19 June in Tonbridge, his Garden Party on 3 August and the Summer Ball on 6 August both at The Hermitage, West Malling, the annual cricket match against Maidstone Borough Council on 14 August at Kings Hill and the Mauling Cup Golf Match at Poult Wood on 11 September. Other fundraising events being planned included a Murder Mystery Evening, a Pudding Evening and a Quiz, further details of which would be available in due course. |

The Chief Executive, as Returning Officer, submitted his report listing persons who had been elected as Councillors at the Borough Council Elections held on 5 May 2011. Members paid tribute to and recorded their thanks for the contribution to the Council and the service to the community given by former Councillors J Clements, D Thornewell and L Withey during their periods of service on the Borough Council. |

Political Balance |
The report of the Monitoring Officer set out details of the political balance arrangements required to be applied to the Council's committees, sub-committees, advisory boards and panels following the elections held on 5 May 2011. RESOLVED: That (1) the composition of all committees, sub-committees, advisory boards and panels be approved in accordance with the table set out at paragraph 1.1.3 of the report; and (2) the Monitoring Officer be authorised to make any consequential amendments to the Council's Constitution in respect of political balance. |
