Gender Equality Scheme |
The report of the Chief Executive referred to the introduction of a new statutory duty to promote equality of opportunity in service provision and for a Gender Equality Scheme to be prepared. It was noted that the draft scheme had been considered initially by the Community Development Advisory Board and subsequently by the Policy and Best Value Committee at its meeting on 27 February 2007. The final scheme, amended in the light of comments made at those meetings and in response to consultation, was annexed to the report. RECOMMENDED: That the draft Gender Equality Scheme as set out at Annex A to the report be adopted subject to the amendment of item 25 of the Action Plan to read: "Review the levels of participation in the Summer Playscheme and Activate to assess whether the overall content of the programme is attractive to both boys and girls". *Referred to Council |
