Review of Borough Leisure Strategy

Minutes

The report provided an update on the review of the Borough Leisure Strategy and set out details of the proposed timescale and arrangements for consultation with the public, key partners/stakeholders and statutory bodies. The Chief Leisure Officer advised that the review provided an opportunity to incorporate the Council's Local Cultural Strategy and produce one strategy document to be known as the Borough Leisure and Arts Strategy.

Following consideration by the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board, the Cabinet Member for Leisure, Youth and Arts resolved that:
1) a new Borough Leisure and Arts Strategy be developed in accordance with the approach outlined in the report;
2) the proposed themes underpinning the new Strategy outlined at Annex 1 to the report be agreed; and
3) the proposed timetable and phases of consultation detailed at Annex 2 to the report be agreed.

Reasons: As set out in the report submitted to the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board of 22 May 2007.
