Sustainable Community Strategy 2009 - 2012 |
The final draft of the Sustainable Community Strategy was presented for endorsement and onward reporting to the Cabinet and Council. The reliability of some external partners in delivering their objectives and responsibilities, especially surrounding maintenance of verges, litter collection and fly posting, were discussed. Members were assured that where contracts were in place standards would be maintained and met. Members were encouraged to contact appropriate parties where it appeared that standards were failing. Members thanked Officers for their achievement in preparing the document especially as it reflected the importance and benefits to the local community of the Local Strategic Partnership. RECOMMENDED: That the Sustainable Community Strategy, as set out at Annex 1 to the report, be endorsed for approval by Cabinet and Council. *Referred to Cabinet |
