Revised Climate Change Strategy |
The report of the Chief Executive introduced a revised version of the Climate Change Strategy following comments and amendments from the consultation phase. It was noted that the main concern related to the sections on Sustainable Development and planning, development and transport. These sections had accordingly altered most significantly since the original draft version. Members discussed aspirations for lowering the Council's carbon footprint, initiatives for reduction of the use of plastic bags and responding to the more frequent occurrence of flooding. Thanks were recorded to the Community Projects Officer for her work on preparation of the Strategy. RECOMMENDED: That the revised Climate Change Strategy be adopted. *Referred to Council |
