The report provided an update on further investigations regarding the staging of the Festival of Music and Fireworks at Tonbridge Castle and brought forward a new proposal for an event in 2011.

Following consideration by the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board, the Cabinet Member for Environmental Services resolved that:
1) the arrangements with Opera Brava to stage a 2011 Festival of Music and Fireworks at Tonbridge Castle as outlined in the report be confirmed; and
2) discussions and negotiations continue to take place with the Tonbridge Arts Festival Committee to consider proposals for the Festival in 2012.

Reasons: As set out in the report submitted to the Leisure and Arts Advisory Board of 1 March 2011 (contains exempt information).
[Councillor Coffin declared a personal and prejudicial interest as the owner of a pyrotechnic business and he withdrew from the meeting during consideration of this item.]
