Treasury Management Strategy Statement and Annual Investment Strategy for 2007/08 |
The report of the Director of Finance set out for approval the Annual Treasury Management and Annual Investment Strategies for 2007/08 as required by the Local Government Act 2003. It was noted that the use of "approved specified" and "approved non-specified" investments had been significantly extended in respect of in-house management options, reflecting the advice of the Council's treasury advisers. Members noted that governance arrangements for internal management of investment funds had been considered during the last cycle of meetings. RECOMMENDED: That (1) the combined Treasury Management Strategy Statement and Annual Investment Strategy for 2007/08 as set out at Annex 1 to the report be adopted; and (2) authority be given for 100% of core funds to be managed internally subject to the operation of the governance arrangements set out in the Council's Treasury Management Practices approved by the Council on 12 December 2006. *Referred to Council |
