Erection of agricultural polytunnels covered with clear plastic sheeting. To include rotational tunnels and successive tunnels with no more than 165ha (30%) of the landholding covered with tunnels in any one calendar year at Barons Place Farm, Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth. The report of the Director of Planning, Transport and Leisure summarised responses received as a result of a consultation period; proposed a site inspection of Barons Place Farm and provided some background material to inform Members of the extent and nature of the many representations to be appreciated prior to a possible site visit. The Committee discussed and suggested particular vantage points, both within and near to the site of the proposed polytunnels, to be incorporated into the Members' Site Inspection so that the settings of the settlements and Conservation Areas could be put into context. RESOLVED: That a Site Inspection be held to enable Members to appreciate the visual aspects of the case and to familiarise themselves with what is proposed and where, so that these matters can be assessed along with all other considerations.
