Housing Assistance/Disabled Facilities Grants Review 2005/06 and Budget Allocations for 2006/07 |
The joint report of the Director of Health and Housing and the Cabinet Member for Housing outlined the disabled facilities grants and housing assistance activity for 2005/06. Information was provided on expenditure, number of completions and approvals and general customer satisfaction with the service. Details of the budget allocation for both housing assistance and disabled facilities grants for 2006/07 were also set out in the report. None of the announced additional funding to support disabled facilities grant expenditure had been allocated to this Authority. RECOMMENDED: That (1) confirmation be given to the action taken in advance of the Cabinet meeting in authorising the Director of Health and Housing to write to local Members of Parliament seeking support for the request for additional funding; (2) the high level of progress with completions of disabled facilities grants, together with the high level of investment achieved over 2005/06 be noted; and (3) the capital allocation of £262,227 for 2006/07 be used to support the Council's private sector renewal activities and the capital plan provision be amended from £160,000 to £262,227. *Referred to Cabinet |
