TM/09/01121/FL - The Birches, 21 Mill Street, East Malling |
Erection of 2 detached houses with attached garages at The Birches, 21 Mill Street, East Malling. RESOLVED: That the application be REFUSED subject to (1) the revision of Reason 1. to read:- "1. The proposed houses would be situated in close proximity to the rear of number 21 Mill Street, with an inadequate degree of separation, that would result in overlooking and loss of privacy for the occupants of this property, being detrimental to residential amenity and in this context symptomatic of development that is considered over-intensive for a plot of this size and contrary to the aim of policies CP1 and CP24 of the Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council Core Strategy."; and (2) the amendment of Reason 2 to read:- "2. The proposed parking arrangements for Plot 1 do not allow for adequate manoeuvring space and this, when combined with the layout and length of the private accessway, is likely to result in difficult and lengthy reversing movements. This in turn would be likely to lead to parking occurring elsewhere in the vicinity, causing traffic congestion. The proposal is therefore contrary to the aims of policy CP24 of the Tonbridge and Malling Borough Core Strategy 2007. [Speakers: Mr A Bush, Mrs S Duncan, Mr B Knock and Dr R Quaife - members of the public and Mr A Morters - applicant] |
