LA 10/007 Gambling Act 2005 - Draft Statement of Licensing Policy
The report of the Central Services Director set out details of the consultation undertaken in respect of the review of the Council's Statement of Licensing Policy under the Gambling Act 2005.

RECOMMENDED: That the Draft Statement of Licensing Policy be commended to Council for adoption.

LA 10/008 Review of Licence Fee for Pet Shops
The Central Services Director drew Members' attention to an error contained in the report submitted to the Committee on 26 January 2009 in respect of the average charge applied in neighbouring districts for a Pet Shop Licence. The Committee was invited to consider whether it wished to amend the current fee of £240 per annum in light of this information.

RESOLVED: That the current fee of £240 per annum be retained as the Licence Fee for Pet Shops.
LA 10/009 Consultation Document - Government Proposal to Exempt Small Live Music Events from the Licensing Act 2003
The report of the Central Services Director outlined the key issues contained in the Government's proposal to exempt small live music events from the Licensing Act 2003.

RESOLVED: That the response set out in Annex 2, as amended to state 'No' at Questions 9 and 10, be endorsed.
MATTERS SUBMITTED FOR INFORMATION
LA 10/010 Update on amendments to Hackney Carriage Stands in Tonbridge and the implementation of a Knowledge Test for new applicants
The Central Services Director provided an update on the implementation of amendments to Hackney Carriage Stands in Tonbridge and the introduction of a 'Knowledge Test' for new applications for a Hackney Carriage Driver's Licence.

RESOLVED: That the report be received and noted.
LA 10/011 Changes to the Licensing Act 2003
The report provided an update on recent changes to the definition of 'an interested party' under Section 33 of the Policing and Crime Act 2009 which allowed members of the licensing authority to make representations on licence applications made under the Licensing Act 2003.

RESOLVED: That the report be received and noted.
