(Report of Management Team)

The report presented an initial draft of a new style Corporate Strategy for 2017 to 2019.  It was noted that the revised approach differed from the previous highly detailed corporate performance plan and comprised a wider vision of the Council’s focus over the three year period, supported by some adopted “key values”.  In addition the strategy indicated how it was intended to meet the challenges being faced by the Council, its commitment to partnership working and some key measures of success.

The Cabinet resolved that:

The draft Corporate Strategy set out at Annex 1 to the report be referred to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee for consideration in accordance with the Constitution, subject to the insertion of the words “or do them differently” after “review some discretionary services and, in some cases, significantly reduce or discontinue these” in the second key action of the Way Forward section.
