The report provided an update on Phase 8 of the Parking Action Plan and identified a number of proposed changes to on-street parking arising from the formal consultation process.

 

Following consideration by the Joint Transportation Board, the Cabinet Member for Planning and Transportation resolved that:

 

(1)          subject to the amendment of the proposals listed below the recommendations set out at Annex 1 to the report be agreed

 

1.         Trottiscliffe Road, Park Road and Mill House Lane, Addington – the proposals be introduced

 

9.       A227 Western Road, Borough Green – the disabled bay be abandoned and the remainder of the proposals be introduced

 

22.     Briar Close, Larkfield – the proposals be abandoned

 

32.     Wrotham Heath, Platt – the proposals be deferred for consideration in a later phase

 

33.     A20 London Road (south side), Ryarsh – the proposals be introduced

 

67a.   Cage Green Road, Tonbridge – the proposals be introduced and the highway safety issues close to the junction of Thorpe Avenue be reviewed

 

43.     Welland Road, Tonbridge – the proposals be abandoned and KCC be asked to consider investigating the safety concerns over the brow of the hill

 

58.     East Street, Tonbridge – the proposals be abandoned and KCC be asked to consider proposals for physical measures to prevent loading and unloading

 

67.     Treetops, Tonbridge – the proposals be deferred pending enforcement of a shared access restriction

 

70.     High Street, Wrotham – the proposals be introduced and the offer of funding from Wrotham Parish Council be accepted

 

72.     St Marys Road, Wrotham – the proposals be introduced and the offer of funding from Wrotham Parish Council be accepted; and

 

(2)          the proposed changes to draft Amendment 8 of the Borough Council’s On-Street Traffic Regulation Order be made and the Order be sealed.

The report of the Director of Street Scene, Leisure and Technical Services provided an update on Phase 8 of the Parking Action Plan and identified a number of proposed changes to on-street parking arising from the formal consultation process.  During consideration of schemes in Wrotham it was noted that, subject to early commencement, Wrotham Parish Council had offered to provide funding for the schemes in the High Street and St Marys Road. 

 

RECOMMENDED:  That

 

(1)          subject to the amendment of the proposals listed below the recommendations set out at Annex 1 to the report be agreed
