LAP 22/21

Review of Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Dual) Driver's Licence - Case No. 006/2022

The Panel is invited to consider what action should be taken in respect of a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Dual) Driver’s Licence.

The Licensing and Appeals Committee, sitting as a Panel, was asked to consider whether any action was appropriate in respect of a Dual Licence holder following a complaint received from a member of the public on the 14 May 2022.

 

The Panel had regard to the report of the Director of Central Services and Deputy Chief Executive, the full statement of complaint, confirmation of the badge number, the full account from the licence holder, Code of Conduct for licensed drivers, confirmation that the vehicle was waiting repair and the garage report.

 

The Panel took into account all the evidence both written and verbal as well as the driver’s unblemished long service, and were concerned that the driver might have driven across a red light without due care and attention.  The Panel understood that the circumstances may have been difficult and therefore limited their recommendation.

 

For these reasons, the Panel 

 

RESOLVED: That in respect of Case Number 006/2022, the holder of the Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Dual) Driver’s licence be issued with a written warning.
