Review of Private Hire Driver's Licence - Case No. 009/2022 The Panel is invited to consider what action should be taken in respect of a Private Hire Driver’s Licence. Minutes: The Licensing and Appeals Committee, sitting as a Panel, was asked to consider whether a new application for a Private Hire Driver’s Licence should be granted under Section 51 (1) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976, or refused under Section 51 (1) (b) of the Act following the receipt of information from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) showing a number of convictions during the period 2013-14.
The Panel had regard to the report of the Director of Central Services and Deputy Chief Executive, the Council’s Taxi and Licensing Enforcement Policy and the Institute of Licensing’s Guidance on Determining the Suitability of Applicants for Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licences
In its deliberations the Panel took into account the oral evidence and were satisfied that the applicant was a fit and proper person to hold a Private Hire Driver’s Licence with Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council.
For this reason, the Panel
RESOLVED: That in respect of Case Number 009/2022, the application for a Private Hire Driver’s licence be granted. |
