Minutes: (Reason: LGA 1972 Sch 12A Paragraph 1 – Information relating to an individual)
The Licensing and Appeals Committee, sitting as a Panel, was asked to consider whether the application for a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Dual) Driver’s licence should be granted after the driver was convicted for an offence of Driving a Motor Vehicle with Excess Alcohol in 2016.
The driver had surrendered his Private Hire Drivers licence after he had been convicted for driving a Motor Vehicle with Excess Alcohol on 2 October 2016.
The Panel took into account the Council’s Taxi and Licensing Enforcement Policy on determining the suitability of applicants and licensees in the hackney carriage/private hire trade plus the Institute of Licensing Safe and Suitable Policy.
Having taken into account all the information given, the Panel was satisfied that the driver was a fit and proper person to be granted the licence as applied for.
For these reasons, the Panel
RESOLVED: That, in respect of Case Number 003/2022, a Hackney Carriage and Private Hire (Dual) driver’s licence be GRANTED under s.51 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. |
