The report provides details of an objection received during the 28-day public notice period (11 February 2021 – 11 March 2021) in respect of the proposed Licensing Fees 2021/22.

Minutes:

The report of the Director of Central Services and Deputy Chief Executive set out details of an objection to the proposed Licensing Fees 2021/22 which had been received during the 28-day public notice period from a licensed taxi driver with Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council.

Members were reminded that the setting of fees and charges, which would enable the recovery of the Council’s reasonable costs, were the responsibility of the Licensing and Appeals Committee.

Careful consideration was given to the objector’s comments regarding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the taxi business and the Committee noted that details of the grants available had been provided to taxi stakeholders within the Borough.

RESOLVED:  That

(1)             no change be made to the Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Fees set on 17 November 2020; and

(2)             the Taxi and Private Hire Licensing Fees, as agreed on 17 November 2020, take effect from 12 April 2021.
