The Licensing and Appeals Committee, sitting as a Panel, is asked to consider an application for a Premises Licence under section 17 of the Licensing Act 2003 for the premises called The Lakes, 46 – 48 High Street, Snodland, Kent. 

The Panel gave consideration to an application for a premises licence in respect of The Lakes, 46-48 High Street, Snodland which had been made under section 17 of the Licensing Act 2003.

Careful consideration was given to the report of the Director of Central Services, the application set out at Annex 1 and the written representation received during the statutory consultation period (as set out at Annex 5 to the report). 

The Panel noted that the representations received from the Responsible Authority for Environmental Health regarding potential noise nuisance and from the Police regarding crime and disorder had been withdrawn prior to the Hearing as conditions had been agreed.

The Panel listened carefully to the representation made by a local resident on behalf of her and her family which were raised under Prevention of Public Nuisance and Prevention of Crime and Disorder.

Having taken into account all the representations, the Panel was minded to grant the licence as applied for, accepting the conditions suggested from the Police and Environmental Health, subject to the amendment of condition 5 of the Police Authority as follows:

(5)    There will be no new admissions onto the roof terrace area after 21:00 hours and the whole roof terrace will be clear of all patrons by 22:30 hours.

RESOLVED: That the application for a new Premises Licence BE GRANTED;

subject to the mandatory conditions, such conditions as are consistent with the operating schedule accompanying the application, the conditions agreed with the Responsible Authorities and the additional condition as set out below:

Additional condition:

(1)         There will be no new admissions to the roof terrace area after 21:00hrs and the whole roof terrace area to be clear of all patrons by 22:30hrs.
