As of 1 April 2026, the Lower Medway Internal Drainage Board and the North Kent Marshes Internal Drainage Board formally amalgamated under the new operating name of North Kent Marshes Water Level Management Board.

Previously, the Lower Medway Internal Drainage Board’s drainage district covered the areas of Cuxton, Faversham, Hoo, Isle of Grain, Isle of Sheppey, Lower Halstow, Minster, Seasalter, Sheerness, Sittingbourne and Snodland.
