The report of the Director of Street Scene, Leisure and Technical Services provided an update on the formal consultation undertaken between 5 and 28 October in respect of Phase 10 of the Parking Action Plan.  Details of the proposals in respect of 25 locations, the responses received to the formal consultation, location plans and redacted copies of the responses were set out at Annexes 1 to 4 of the report. 

 

RECOMMENDED:  That the recommendations for each location, as set out in Annex 1 to the report, be adopted and, where appropriate, any objections be set aside and the restrictions be introduced.

The report summarises the results of a statutory consultation on the proposal to reduce the speed limit on the A228 from National speed Limit to 50mph.

The report of the Director of Highways, Transportation and Waste summarised the results of a statutory consultation on a proposal to reduce the speed limit on the A228 between just north of the Leybourne Lakes (Ham Hill) roundabout to the Peters Bridge roundabout from the National Speed Limit to 50mph. 

 

RECOMMENDED:  That Kent County Council proceed with the Traffic Regulation Order to install a 50mph speed limit, as set out in the Statement of Reasons in Appendix C to the report.

This report provides an update on the options that were to be further investigated following the recommendation made at the 11 June Joint Transportation board to address congestion issues around Bus Stop G (outside No. 34 High Street - Café Nero)

The report of the Head of Transportation, Kent County Council, outlined the findings of the further investigation of the congestion issues raised at Bus Stop G, outside 34 High Street, Tonbridge.  The advantages and disadvantages of two possible layouts were considered by the Board and it was

This paper outlines the County Council’s strategy for implementing the new Code of Practice for highway maintenance management which becomes fully effective in October 2018

The report of the Highway Policy and Inspections Manager, KCC, outlined the County Council’s strategy for implementing the new Code of Practice for highways maintenance management which had become fully effective in October.  It was noted that the Well-managed Highway Infrastructure was a national non-statutory code of practice which set out a series of general principles for highway maintenance and promoted the establishment of local levels of service through risk-based assessment.

This report updates Members on the identified schemes approved for construction in 2018/19

Minutes:

The report of KCC Highways and Transportation provided an update on the footway and carriageway improvement schemes, drainage repairs and improvements, street lighting, transportation and safety schemes, Developer Funded Works (Section 278 and 106 works), bridge works and traffic systems.  In addition the report provided details of the current County Member funded schemes within the Borough.

Wateringbury Crossroads - Consultation pdf icon PDF 638 KB

Kent County Council (KCC) is launching a consultation running from 5 December to 13 January 2019. The consultation will show two options to improve the crossroads in Wateringbury, A26 Tonbridge Road / Bow Road / Red Hill. The junction is used by vehicles aiming to travel between Maidstone, Tonbridge, Nettlestead and East Malling and a number of pedestrians accessing the local amenities

Minutes:

The report of the Head of Transportation, KCC, set out details of a proposed consultation on options to improve the crossroad junction at the A26 Tonbridge Road/Bow Road/Red Hill, Wateringbury.  Members were advised that, following publication of the agenda, initial quotes for the diversion of utilities had been received which were extremely high.  It was suggested that the public consultation be delayed to allow detailed discussion to be undertaken with the utility companies.
