This report details the proposed 40mph speed limit restrictions on the B2016 Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth

Minutes:

The report of the Head of Transportation at Kent County Council detailed the proposed 40mph speed limit restrictions on the B2016 Seven Mile Lane, Mereworth.  The Schemes, Planning and Delivery (SPD) Team were assisting with the writing and consultation of the traffic regulation order (TRO) for the scheme which was being funded and installed on behalf of Kent County Councillor Sarah Hudson via the Combined Members Grant (CMG).  The report sought approval to proceed to make the Traffic Regulation Order following public consultation already completed.

 

RESOLVED: That the 40mph speed limit on the B2016, Seven Mile Lane, be implemented as shown on the plan at Appendix D to the report.

This report outlines the outcomes of the public consultation in relation to the proposed traffic calming on Upper Haysden Lane outside the Nexus School and heading north-east towards Brook Street.

The report of the Head of Transportation, Kent County Council, outlined the outcomes of the public consultation in relation to the proposed traffic calming on Upper Haysden Lane outside The Nexus School and heading north east towards Brook Street.  The report also referred to discussions and previous reports in relation to the request for a reduction in speed limit to 30mph on Upper Haysden Lane.  It was highlighted that the complete scheme would include a 30mph speed limit, concrete cushions (traffic calming) and flashing (wig-wags) school warning signs in the vicinity of the school access.

 

RESOLVED: That the full scheme, as shown at Appendix A to the report, be installed.

This report relates to the implementation of the changes to on-street parking charges and the consultation necessary for making a Traffic Regulation Order.

The joint report of the Director of Street Scene, Leisure and Technical Services and the Director of Finance and Transformation detailed the outcome of the public consultation in respect of on-street parking charges.  Although the proposals had been advertised and objections invited, no responses were received to the proposals either in support or objection.

This report updates Members on the identified schemes approved for construction

The report of the Kent County Highways, Transportation and Waste summarised schemes programmed for delivery in 2022/23 and provided an update on Road, Footway and Cycleway Renewal and Preservation Schemes (Appendix A), Drainage Repairs and Improvements (Appendix B), Street Lighting (Appendix C), Transportation and Safety Schemes (Appendix D), Developer Funded Works (Appendix E), Bridge Works (Appendix F), Traffic Systems (Appendix G) and the Combined Members Grant (Appendix H).  Representatives from Kent County Council Highways responded to questions relating to street lighting in the borough, footway protection on Sevenoaks Road/Borough Green Road, signage and placement of safety cameras on Tonbridge Road, the enhancement of Ryarsh bus services and the flooding issue on Pembury Road. 

 

A request was made that consideration be given to the responses received in respect of the A20 scheme between the A228 and Coldharbour if the scheme were revisited, and that the planned drainage remedial work be included in any new scheme.
